Verbatim Poetry publishes untreated found poems. They are poems found lurking in text that was never meant to be verse, arranged in lines, with very little else changed.
Found poetry is wonderful. Everywhere that humans go, there is language. And poetry is simply language framed. So in framing words from spam emails, Instagram captions, product instructions, dating websites, road signs, we find poetry, in the most ordinary of places.
And sometimes places that are extraordinary.
Or dark, or weird, or unexpected.
We’ve been doing this, on and off, since 2009. Which makes this the biggest found poetry collection in the world. Probably.
